If the money in the till doesn't match what it is supposed to the girl (or boy) in the best case scenario will have to make it up. In the worse case scenario they will get fired.

So yeah I would give it back

Depends on when I noticed it. If I noticed it right away, I'd say something and give it back, but if I noticed it when I'd already left the drive through, I wouldn't go back.

I typically give cashiers back any monies they overpay me, it happens! And I have been on the other end and erm, you need to balance your register at the end of the day.

But if it wasn't much and I was in my car getting ready to drive away? That is a tough one, it would depend if over a few dollars, I hate to admit.

This assumes that I even catch the error and haven't driven off already. If I catch it later, it would probably depend how much they overpaid me, as to whether or not I would go back. That would be true for underpayment as well.
