How do you usually cook bacon ?

On the stovetop
In the oven
In the microwave
I don't have to cook it because I buy the pre-cooked kind.
On the grill
A totally different way (please describe)

Which texture do you prefer? (Assume you are eating bacon strips and not crumbling it or anything.)

Extra crispy, even if some is slightly burned
More chewy than crispy, but still mostly stiff
Does it matter? It's BACON. MMM BACON.

This poll made me realize I have absolutely zero preferences in the way bacon is prepared -- it's all appealing -- which is surprising because I don't normally think of myself as a huge fan of bacon. It's pretty far down on my list of "tempting foodstuffs from animals"...I never got the hype.

It is so not popular here in germany- that Bacon is introduced as 'bacon' in the shops.
We do have schinken(the on bread kind of variety less fatty but similar looks) and the ham/kochschinken variety (also for bread or pizza whatever)
the bacon one has been new .

I like it when my bacon is like normal meat, as in I don't scratch the roof of my mouth with it and I'm not chewing it for an hour.

My totally different way is in a slow cooker (partly). I make bacon jam (the recipe is in my journal, recently) and you cook the bacon on the stovetop and then more in the slowcooker.

I cook mine in a frying pan. Doing it right on the stovetop is messy.

I don't like bacon myself, so I answered for my other half xD I assumed that stove top means in a frying pan.
