I live alone in a flat on the second floor (third to Americans) and neither wash my windows nor pay anyone to do it.

I was just thinking about this the other day when I (finally) took the plastic off the windows from the winter. I have no idea who is in charge of washing our windows, but I doubt it has been done in the last 5 years by the state of them.

edit: Also, my parents wash their windows 2x a year - In the spring before they put up the screens and in the fall when they take them down. It's my mom's job.

I wash them about three our four times a year. I live on the first floor of an apartment, and neither building I've lived in has ever washed the outside of the windows, so I just do it.

It is my intention to wash them once a year, but we've lived here for three years and I haven't yet. It'll probably be me who does it when it gets done.

I live on the top floor so I just wash the inside of my windows and let the rain/snow do the work for me!

My response is misleading, I only wash the windows that easy to get to and people see out of a lot. The windows on the second level of the house were washed whatever year it was that I had my house painted.

I let Mother Nature do the washing on the outside. As for the inside? Well, I'm getting 'round to it eventually (we've been in our house nearly 8 years ... maybe by Year 10).

I was living in a flat where the windows were just incredibly filthy(when we got there) so i cleaned them. but normally I hardly ever clean them..
