I regard weight-loss diet plans with skepticism. Exercise and balanced eating in moderation is the way to go; why complicate things?

I don't know where the nearest art gallery is, but in the nearest urban area I've been to several of them, some more than once.

Our governor is a tool.

I only want to live to be a hundred if I'll be sound in mind and not a complete wreck physically.

I would love $200k -- Mama's gotta pay off the rest of her college loans.

I'm terrible talking to strangers.

I don't really have the drive to crank out novel-length fiction.

I've used Fast-5 Intermittent Fasting and 4 Hour Body Slow Carb. Both diets work great, but Slow Carb is more for jumpstarting weight loss than following for the rest of your life.

Clean Eating

I've used the Costco version of SlimFast (the flavor is superior to any others I've tried) as a lunch replacement. I'd otherwise be trying to figure out lunches to take to work or be eating out every lunch. I've used it more to maintain my weight or drop T-Day/Xmas pounds though.

I don't know where the closest gallery is to me but I have been to some near me a few times.

If I won $200k I would be able to replace/upgrade/buy many things I've been putting off, but I doubt it would change my life much. I wouldn't quit my job or move elsewhere; I might buy a newer model of the car I already have...

I can't imagine what I would talk to Obama about. How about that local sports team?

A really great lunch I take to work regularly is a ~1 pint plastic box tightly packed with raw spinach and about 3oz of cooked steak. It's a good salad, with just some oil and vinegar.

It would depend on whether or not President Obama and I have anything in common as to how easy or difficult it would be to talk with him.

I'm diabetic, so I've tried counting carbs to lose weight.

I went to the nearest art gallery when they had the Grandma Moses exhibit. As far as I'm concerned, her paintings suck.

I would love to talk to President Obama. I think he would be very easy to talk to.

I have had a great success with Slimming World - lost 63 pounds over three years. Having a good somewhat health-related reason to lose weight was the key to success, and keeping a food diary and exercise diary really helped.

I am confused about your wording for the politics question. The last election I voted in was the AV/first past the post referendum; in the election before that I didn't vote for the party that the current prime minister is a member of.

I vote in all local elections, but we don't have a mayor in my township. :-)

I am anorexic and my body generally couldn't be bothered to tell me when it's hungry anyway. So losing weight? Not a problem!

Gaining weight is another issue entirely. Presently i would need to put on 15-20 lbs to reach a "healthy" BMI of 18.5. Intellectually i understand that i should try to reach that goal, that it's better for my health if i do. But last time i actually made it to within 5 lbs of it, i FREAKED THE F*** OUT. And instinctively started losing weight again.

It seems funny that you someone would choose Overeaters Anonymous, considering that 'Anonymous' is in the title... ;P
11th-May-2011 05:48 am (UTC)
Nutrisystem. Worked, until I got tired of the food.
12th-May-2011 01:39 am (UTC)
Really, my mom was doing Weight Watchers and I just did it with her. I did loose 10 pounds though.

The Justin Bieber question should have a "don't care" option. I voted yes because I think he's a good performer even though his music isn't for everyone. But I'm not going to buy his music or see his concerts.
