For musician, I'll miss Dio. And for author, I'll miss Paul Quarrington.

yeah, i just miss their body of work, so if they weren't producing, or weren't still producing quality, i don't miss them

i have a chronic illness that sometimes causes me problems forming memories (think Momento, but not nearly so bad) so I periodically go through "whoa, _____ died! no way" - I've mourned Vonnegut's death 50 times by now - he IS someone I felt a real attachment to. So this list was a bit rough for me :)

Ronnie James Dio.

I'm really surprised that when magazines like Time or Entertainment Weekly did their year-end tributes to those who had died in 2010, they left Dio out. He definitely deserves to be mentioned.

Wow, I had somehow missed that Jill Clayburgh had died. So sad. She wasn't that old (66) and I've always loved her work.

For the actors/actresses: Maury Chaykin.

Wow, I completely missed the fact that he died. I liked him as an actor, and I also used to see him from time to time walking in downtown Vancouver. He was an excellent character actor and looking at his filmography page on Wikipedia, he had a very large body of work (no pun intended.)

Heh. I really liked him as Nero Wolfe, in fact it was that show that got me into the books, and every time I read any of the books I can hear him as Nero Wolfe.

Howard Zinn!

Lynn Redgrave did not spell her name with an "e"; being one of my absolute favorite actresses, I must kill you for this faux pas. :)

musicians: Peter Steele (Type O Negative) and Paul Gray (Slipknot). RIP.
