Ruined by Barbie

This is not a question about Barbie's affect on society as a whole. It is a question of if you think *my* collection of 25-year-old Barbie dolls is going to negatively impact my two-year-old, who recently found my stash and loves playing* with them.

They are not in the best of shape. Time has been...cruel.

Some of them look okay, if slightly dated. High tops and denim jackets? Oh yeah.

A few,  however, have suffered from some mild amputations, which I can assure you only minimally affects their pursuit of happiness.

I'm sure there's a big, ol' gray area here, but just go with your first instinct on this poll.

Poll #1558143 Barbie Dolls

Will playing with these Barbies at two years of age negatively impact my two-year-old?

*Note that playing consists of taking them out of the box and putting them back into the box. A fun game that can last for hours.

Why would playing with Barbies negatively impact a two-year-old? Especially if all said two-year-old is doing is taking them out of the box and putting them back in the box? I agree with tenthz that you might want to watch out for small parts, but overall, I see nothing wrong with your child playing with the Barbies.

My thought is that the amputated Barbies may scar her for life. Or jade her. I don't know. I'll let you know in twenty years how it all turns out. :P

I have two girls who are 9 and 7. If those dolls were not missing any parts then most likely they soon will be. lol

Any little girl who has a Barbie that isn't missing parts hasn't been playing with it very much. ;)
