I've never seen any of the series, though I have wanted to, so answering "No, and I don't like or don't watch Doctor Who" or "I don't watch Doctor Who, so I don't care," etc., would have been very misleading. I just haven't had the opportunity nor means to watch it.

I wasn't sure what to expect, and I'm still not sure how I feel after the first episode. I'm sure I'll come around...

Was Matt Smith what you expected?

My faith is in Moffatt. His reaction, reportedly, was "totally not what I was looking for, but that's it." I have a sense that my reaction will be the same. Likely.

I can't say that I don't like Doctor Who, I'm just not much of a television person. I saw about five minutes of the show with the new Doctor and I thought he was cute.

I guess that's all the input I really have on this subject.

For the last one, I've seen pics of the actress and I think she's quite pretty. Still haven't seen more than two eps of the show, though.

The problem for me with each new Dr Who incarnation is that I'm old enough to have seen the show since it started (yes! And I did, too!) with the original William Hartnell, and so as each incarnation gets younger and younger and I get older and older the discrepancy seems wider... the current doctor is too young for me and he doesn't (for me, anyway) have the Dr Who 'presence'. That said, I felt the same way about Tennant and Eccleston when they started and I'd say I pretty much 'adjusted' to them. For me, the best Doctor with the most presence was Tom Baker.

If, on each new incarnation, the doctors get younger... one day he/she (time we had a female doctor, isn't it?) will be a baby. Then I guess it will time to call it a day...

When I started watching the series, Tom Baker was the Doctor. IMO, he was the best followed by David Tennant. The other ones have been ok to meh. I haven't seen the ones with the new Doctor but I must agree with you that it seems that they keep getting younger. lol The new one just seems to be a bit too young to play the Doctor, but I will watch the new episodes and at least try to give him a chance. I agree with you and hope they don't keep following the trend of making him younger with each incarnation.

He has an odd head and it bothers me.

I want to like Amy! Really, I do! She just happens to be the first full-time companion since Donna, and anyone following Donna will not live up. :( Also, the character doesn't strike me as very well-developed.

I've only seen the commercials, and I don't really like the new guy just based on that. I've only seen a few random episodes of Dr. Who over the years. I watched Torchwood, though, so know a little of Dr. Who just from being in that fandom as there's a bit of a crossover. Also, my sister was a Dr. Who fan back in the 70s and 80s, so I've been aware of it, if not really watching.

I may yet watch some of the new series or maybe get some of the older ones from Netflix.I watched the last episodes of the last series, but I actually don't remember much of it.
