I'm not exactly sure how to interpret "accidentally killed." I'm taking that to mean "died of something other than old age when on my watch." The deaths frequently have little or nothing to do with decisions that I've actually made, but equally I haven't quit and reload to try and avoid them.

I'm talking about like, an accidental fire occurring and your sim trying to put out and dying, without that being your intention.
16th-Dec-2009 11:02 pm (UTC)
That was my one accidental death. You'd think a sim with maxed out cooking would know enough about fires to not die in their first fireplace, but nooooo. My sims have now been banned from owning fireplaces.
16th-Dec-2009 07:00 pm (UTC) - I've only played the first Sims
I used to get my Sims accidentally killed in fires all the time, but ever since I picked it up again I haven't killed a single one, on purpose or by accident.

My sister, meanwhile, made an entire family of eight, built them a beautiful house, then locked them up and starved them to death, so that the house could have a beautiful graveyard for the family she actually intended to keep in there. Entirely unaware of this plan, all of my Sims had gone and befriended this family, one of them had even fallen in love and was caught in a love triangle...and then I went and discovered they were all dead. Fortunately the new family was very pleasant.

I love how you're so emotionally involved!

I used to inflict all sorts of cruel and unusual punishments on my sims, especially in the first game. I think trapping people was my favourite. E.g., walling up a baby's crib so social services couldn't get in to collect it, or inviting neighbours over then building walls around them and watching them die. However, I think I stopped doing that kind of thing about the time we got The Sims 2. Now I just put all my efforts into seeing how many offspring I can get a family to have without it all falling to bits. I'd say the majority of the characters I've created have had the "family" aspiration, for that very reason. Same goes for making the couples hetero (not that I'm averse to my sims playing away, whether that be with the same or opposite sex). I guess I find it more stimulating to have these ridiculous families to manage than to, say, have someone spend their every waking hour performing the "chat" function in an attempt to become more popular. And I like the idea of creating these huge family trees whose members can intermarry, mix genes, etc. Too bad I lose interest too quickly to accomplish it. :P I tend to play intensely for a few days and then lose interest for months before I get addicted again.

Incidentally, I'd be interested to see how much people are interested in the house-building side of it. There have been occasions when I've spent days building a place and then finally moved some sims in and just lost interest. I'm far more proud of some of my buildings than any of my sims.

I do the house thing. I'll spend hours on a house and by the time I'm done I'm bored of the game and stop playing that day.

My sims always end up being bisexual. Then again I always try to move everyone else in the neighborhood into my house. Just to see if I can do it. lol Then I get bored and start killing them off. Yeah, I am not a good sim 'owner'. =P I also played the Sims Online.

I figured if you didn't play it, you would'nt've clicked on the LJ cut.

I only have one family that I actually play. Pathetically, they're Mary Sues of myself and my boyfriend (at least in looks). We have two children, Patrick and Gwen. Fuck if I want children IRL though.

I've never played the Sims, but I was a devoted player of SimCity and SimPark when I was little.

Man, I miss SimPark. Nothing like chasing those damn buffalo around and wondering why people wanted to rent that freaking gazebo so much. xD

the actual game is so boring, but I do love building the houses and making the people.

When Sims first came out, my friends and I created ourselves as Sims, all in the same n'hood on a friends computer.

A male friend of mine started a r'ship with 'me'. My boyfriend at the time got really angry so he killed off my male friend in the game.

Oh the memories!

This poll was hard to answer. I have Sims, Sims 2, and Sims 3. I have no idea how many expansion packs I have. I think I had them all, but I can't even recall if there were expansion packs for the original Sims. If there were, I probably had them.

I don't have World Adventures yet, but I will soon.

My Sims often have families of various sizes. Some of my Sims have had six children but others have had just one or two or something in between.

I don't think my Sims are virtually equal between heterosexual or homosexual. I actually go with whoever they seem to get along with and who is also single when it's time for my Sims to get married. I suppose it could be about even, but I think I lean more towards my Sims being gay.

I accidentally killed Sims in the original game, and maybe a few in Sims 2. I haven't killed any in Sims 3. I don't know how many that would add up to. My memory is not that good.

I enjoy making the Sims and building their houses more than playing, but I love playing, too.

I definitely prefer typing in cheats to give my Sims money. In Sims 3, my Sims never get jobs.

I left my fav Sim gazing the sky too much and he was killed by a satellite :(.

I have the ultimative cheat machin insimenator. don't use it for money though but for the stats, very good at a slow laptop, and lots of kids xD
19th-Dec-2009 10:36 pm (UTC)
Until my twins were gone and I didn't know why , I didn't cheat , and my older brother was a teen ager by this stage(and it was naturally conceived twins)
My fav family is the one with the always being extended house of the son of my original family :D. I recently had problems though because my laptop freezes up :(. The only thing I dont like at sims 2 is that the adults there get old farts without an ability to have cool clothes anymore.
