Sex and the City

Gay Street
My significant other is a fan of Sex and the City. It's on one of our cable stations and airs about four episodes in a row. I wasn't a fan of the show, but I hate to admit it, but it grew on me. I still don't like it much, but I get hooked by some of the stories, and I liked it more since I went to New York. I was just curious about what kind of a fan base it has out there, and hence this poll.

I watched every episode when it was airing, but haven't rewatched it since its cancellation. I like it, but not enough I suppose.

Hiho,

Ha, that's my answer, exactly!

I've probably seen more than half of the episodes, and although they're entertaining I can't say that I really LIKED any of the characters.

I particularly didn't like Carrie (yeah, not Kerry). I thought her character was spineless and self-obsessed.

I saw the movie and loved it, but they need to STOP. lol

SitC is one of those that I enjoy when it's on, I like it more than the average sitcom, but I don't love it so much that I seek it out in particular.

Kind of embarrassing, but my gf was a huge-ass fan of this show, so I eventually saw some of it too. And it was aired on TBS at night ALL-THE-TIME. lol. So I saw it a lot and then eventually, I got hooked on the stories...the relationships, specifically Carrie & Big, and Steve & Miranda :D And I also liked Charlotte and that Harry guy.

Some of the episodes annoyed the SHIT out of me, by the way. I want to make sure everyone is aware of this fact. I mean, the premise of the whole show was basically "four women get together to bitch about men and call them horrible disgusting pigs the entire 20-30 minutes". It pissed me off sometimes, how stereotypical and irritating it all was.

But, I got hooked on those damn relationships. I wanted to know what was going to happen between Big & Carrie, and I really liked Steve too. His voice is so cool!!

i agree. i get pissed off at the show for this reason too, and i'm a girl. i also don't like how they treat being single as something absolutely horrible.

but anyway, i'm still entertained most of the time. :p

Another great point! Besides Samantha, of course, although that was really because she just loved having sex with different men all the time instead of one-on-one long-term relationships, all three of the other girls acted like they were miserable when single during the show. I guess this was because, to them, most of them wanted to find "the one" and find "marriage" and "have babies" and everything. But it was definitely stupid, and in my opinion kind of gives younger girls (who shouldn't be watching it anyway probably), or just any female at all, the wrong idea - that they need to always be in a relationship.

Yeah, I was still entertained most of the time too.
I did, in fact, end up seeing every single episode lol.
I guess it was a good show, just with some major flaws.

samantha might not have been the marriage and babies and type, but she still defined herself through her relationships with men, which i guess is what's at the heart of what bugged me about the show.

wow, you've seen more than me. i probably haven't seen a few seasons.

I caught some episodes on TBS and it got me interested so I rented them on netflix and that was pretty much all I watched for an entire summer, so I got really into it. I could never choose between the girls and the boys I definitely had a hard time of it.

I never watched the shows when it was airing, but I saw reruns and got hooked and now I'm collecting the series.

ya know, I LOVED the series until season 6 when they really wanted everybody all partnered up. and I thought the movie was weird... they made mr. big into a mental case and carrie into a bouncy crazy wedding freak. screwed up steve & miranda too. so I'm not terribly pumped about another movie.

I don't have cable so I've only seen one episode. It was good, but not good enough to inspire me to seek it out online or buy the DVDs. I didn't really get a chance to know the characters either. I know which character name goes with which actress, but I don't really know the characters' personalities.
