Relationships, Similarities and Sarcasm

In this poll I've used the term "intimate relationship." What I'm thinking is a boyfriend, girlfriend, spouse, domestic partner kind of thing. It needn't be a sexual relationship, but I'm thinking of something other than family (parent, sibling, child) or platonic friend. But if you're stuck on the definition, just take it to mean whatever you think it means.
