Pope Benedict XVI has planned a tour of North America. If the Pope was on tour in your city (or one close to you, whether in NA or elsewhere), how likely would you be to go see him?
You overhear someone describing a dance: "it's just a jump to the left, then a step to the right; put your hands on your hips and bring your knees in tight. A little pelvic thrust..." Can you name the dance?
Duh! Hellz yeah, it's the...(shhh!, see if others know first)
That sounds familiar, but I just can't place it
The Olympic Torch, destined for the Beijing Olympics, has been disrupted in Paris, London and San Francisco by protesters objecting to China's human rights record. Which statement below comes closest to describing your view of the matter?
The protesters are right. China's human rights record is atrocious and a strong statement like this is called for.
China's human rights record is atrocious, but the protest should be a peaceful one.
The Olympics and China's human rights record are seperate matters. They shouldn't be protesting the Olympic flame.
China's human rights record is no worse than that of many other countries. Why should they be singled out?
I am totally apathetic and really don't care about this.
I'm not sure what to think aboyt this matter.
I've never heard about this.
None of these statements comes close to my view on the matter, perhaps I'll comment and tell you what I think.
Hypothetical: you are single and dating someone who you are attracted to and very interested in pursuing a relationship. Before becoming physically intimate, the person you are interested in tells you that he or she has an STD. How are you likely to react?
That's a deal breaker for me. Hasta la vista baby.
That's irrelevant to me. If I'm interested in the person, it doesn't matter.
It depends on what the STD is. Some are no big deal to me, while others are.
Some other consideration (tell us what).
Mischa Barton received a $2000 fine and 3 years probation for impaired driving, which leads me to ask: which of the following statements do you agree with more?
Celebrities get lighter sentences than the average person because they have money and can afford good lawyers.
Celebrities get harsher sentences than the average person because the media is focussed on them and its harder for them to hide a plea bargain from a critical public.
For the most part, the sentences received by celebrities are no softer and no harsher than the average person.
I'm not sure what to think about this.
None of these comes close to my opinion on this subject, so perhaps I'll give you my opinion in a comment.
In Toronto a 19 year old pregnant woman is in jail because she refused to testify against her abusive boyfriend. He is charged with forcibly confining her and assaulting her with a weapon, but she says she now doesn't want him charged and wants to be with him. Opinion is split on the case. How do you feel?
It's a free country. If she wants to be with this loser, she has the right to make that choice.
She should be jailed for refusing to testify. If the authorities let her go be with him, they'll be criticized for it later on when he murders her or her child.
I don't know what to think about this situation.
None of these choices describes my opinion about this, so I'll put it in a comment.
