It depends on the nature of the sexual content, which may or may not be presented in a positive light. If it isn't or is graphic, then I don't think kids should see it either. But no thanks to some of the violent movies my older sister took me to see when I was a young kid, I've been pretty scarred, let's just say. =/ I had nightmares for weeks after this one where a crazy guy killed a woman by pouring honey on her face and letting ants eat her alive. ^^;;;;;;

Aww...that does sound scary for most little kids to see. Poor you. D:

Movies have ratings for a reason. It annoys me when parents ignore ratings. :k

Sex is something that most parents want their children to have (once they're old enough), if only so they can get grandchildren. Violence is something that most parents would protect their children from if possible.
Why it's better to see violence than nudity is beyond me.

It really depends on the portrayal of the sexuality -- it's not something inherently bad, like violence is.

I went with violence, but I don't think either one is bad for children to see if they have adults around who can tell them what's real, because the main bad point I see about these things is that they will give children a jaded sense of reality.

Sex isn't an every day/natural/part of life for a child though. Don't you think today's media and irresponsible parents are contributing to children experimenting early on with sex, drugs, etc?

I agree, but there are different ways to teach. I /do/ think allowing young children to watch any movies they want and play any video-games they want, especially without guidance and supervision, could end up being harmful to them.

Trust, privileges, responsibility...some things just have to come with age (which of course, could be different depending upon the maturity of each child).

It really depends on the child in question. Some kids, like myself, would be fine watching both, while some would be freaked out by the sex and others would find violence worse.

You're a rarity in today's sad world. -sigh- lol

I think children can watch both in moderation. I also think it depends on the child.

Sex can be good and some movies show that.

Violence is never good.
