I don't like these categories :-/

first of all i'd be willing to pay a LOT less for a shirt than a dress.

second of all i think my cutoff is usually around $200 but I didn't want to click 500 for that because it makes it seem like i'd pay a lot more than i would.

I feel the same way. There are a lot of things I'd spend $120-$150 or so on, but no clothing I can imagine spending anything near $500 on, unless my income were MUCH higher.

Same here. My cut off is around 150$ for most dresses, around 100$ max for skirts. I would pay significantly less, say around 30$, for pants or shirts.

Me too

Are there people who spend $6,000 for sunglasses? I mean, aside from Lady Gaga?
23rd-Feb-2010 02:42 pm (UTC)
Psht, I barely spend 6k on a CAR.
23rd-Feb-2010 02:44 pm (UTC)
We've never spent that much on a car either. I think our only big purchase has been our house, and obviously the bank owns all but our hefty down payment, so... $6k sunglasses seem kind of nauseating to me. :P

I don't think there's every been a clothing item that I really wanted that I didn't need. Like right now I need pants, but I really don't want them. And I really don't want to go shopping for them. Ugh. Can't we just all go around naked? Life would be so much easier! lol. (kidding!)

Body paint that heats up would be good!

I'm having to make guesses really as the dollar isn't my country's currency, but approximately anyway I try to spend as little as I can on anything! What tends to eat up my money though (and this probably is the case for a lot of people) is buying too many inexpensive things... they all add up.

nice bell curves. interesting to see where the distribution lies.

I could see myself spending over $100 on a dress or a pair of shoes, if I had the money to spend. So I ticked $500, even though I couldn't really see myself spending quite that much :P
23rd-Feb-2010 04:00 pm (UTC)
I haven't bought jewelry in over ten years, so I couldn't really answer that one.
23rd-Feb-2010 04:53 pm (UTC)
I ticked $500 or less for a few of them, but really it'd be more like < $200. Realistically, if I don't need it I'm probably not going higher than $150 (except maybe for shoes, but even then they'd be practical ones). And I don't even wear jewellery, but I said $500 or less for that one too, purely based on the idea that if I were to buy a new watch, I'd be willing to go to a couple of hundred. Given that the last time I bought a watch was approximately ten years ago and I've worn it pretty much every day since, I'm inclined to think that it's a good investment. :P I basically work on the principle that shopping for clothes is a form of torture, and that spending a decent amount of money is therefore justified if it postpones the next outing longer.

I'd say most things I'd buy for $50 or less. Though pants I have little choice in the matter, given that if I can find my size I pretty much am stuck with whatever price there is. I can't shop around for my size. I either find it and buy it there, or risk not having any pants. xD

I'm 28 x 34 and that's impossible to find.

Shirts however, I'd spend $20 or less. I'm good with Wal*Mart shirts and shirts on sale.

I hate clothes shopping so much, so I didn't know how to answer any of these. I don't know what the going rate is for, say, a pair of pants. I remember when a decent pair used to cost about $15 or so on average as new, but over the years, the prices have just gotten ridiculous.

And I don't wear jewelry or other accessories, so probably, the best answer for those would be $0. XD

Should I answer this quiz with the money in mind that I actually have or assuming I have much much more?

My winter boots cost like $120 I think, but I would certainly not spend that much on a regular pair of shoes.
24th-Feb-2010 02:03 am (UTC)
Most of the time, I won't spend more than $15 on basically any item of clothing, but sometimes I will go insane and buy an $80 dress, or a $70 pair of sneakers. But that's like once every couple of years. Same with jewelry. Once I bought like a $50 bracelet, but that was once, and normally I won't spend more than $8-$15 on jewelry, depending on what it is.

Basically, if I can't get it on clearance, I'm probably not going to buy it.
