I sort of got unlucky for Valentine's day. I'm at college and all my friends are going home since it's a three day weekend, the only two friends that are staying are a couple, and I don't feel comfortable hanging out with anyone else since I don't want them to take it the wrong way since most of my friends are guys.
I will be spending it doing calculus. Which I actually do like.

I am broke for Vday because I spent a lot of money getting supplies for my fiancee who is sick. Lotion tissues, chicken noodle soup, nyquil, sudafed, afrin, chapstick, cough-drops etc. So I am going to have to be creative. I'm going to paint him a painting (he loves my art) bake him cookies and make him a letter/card/valentine.

I just started casually seeing someone, and we're going out for hot dogs and a hike on Sunday. Somehow I like this idea way more than the traditional chocolate/flowers/mushy stuff, because I really really really love hot dogs.

That sounds like a kickass valentine's actually.

We both kind of bonded over the place so we decided to make a trek out there. It's exciting!

(Hot Dog Johnny's, if you were curious!)

We've never done gifts for V-day but I always want sex, so that's no different than any other day. ;)

I don't care about getting anything.

Valentine's Day is an ''imported holiday'' in my country, so I don't feel any ''obligation'' towards anyone, so to speak.
14th-Feb-2010 03:14 pm (UTC)
Same here. Most people I know don't celebrate it.

Any holiday that can be celebrated by going out to dinner and having sex is OK in my book.

I'd love ANYTHING for Valentine's Day, but hubby doesn't really do gifts for that. I asked for something Valentine-related last year and got a little plastic creature that sits on my desk and lights up different colours. Very cute, but not really what I had in mind!

Men are so oblivious sometimes, haha!

Considering I've never gotten anything for Valentine's Day, really most of the above would be nice.

Also, anyone else like gaining a boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/etc on VDAy? xD

Basically it goes like this: "Oh look it's Valentines day again. Should probably avoid any 'romantic destinations' and go about my day as usual."

This has been the case when I've been in a relationship (last 5 years) and when I have been single (5 years ago and now)

The only time I've really "celebrated" it was in elementary school... and that was because they made us give cards to everyone in class. ;)

My 4yr old daughter is my Valentine. I always get her a gift, and I plan on taking her to the movies or something this year. I think even if I was dating someone I would still do Valentine's mother/daughter style.
