Half the time, I just do one trip, then one dessert trip. But sometimes I like to take one piece of a bunch of things, then nibble those and go back and get a plate of the things I liked the most.

This is a good poll. Because I have been curious ever since we talked.

I do not remember talking to you about this. When was that??

Hmm, maybe I only talked about it in my head. Oh well.

That feels like FOREVER ago. :-P

I take 2 trips, it might be 3 though. But I'm weird and don't like my food touching each other so I put less on my plate and take more trips.

oooh... I guess I should have also asked how full you have each plate. I usually do 3 trips, but my plate is PILED full.

I am another 3-trip person! Two for "regular" food and one for the Mongolian grill.

Then again, I tend to save up eating for the end of the day if I know I'm going to the buffet so I'm usually starving by then...and hungry two hours later. HOW DO YOU DO THAT, CHINESE FOOD?

Magical Chinese food! For me, Chinese buffet is best in the middle of the day and then I don't eat breakfast or dinner... or breakfast the next day! Usually I am still full 2 hours later, but for some reason have the unnatural urge to eat more

The last time my old boyfriend dragged me to a Chinese buffet, we both ended up getting horribly food poisoned. I have not gone to a Chinese buffet since, for any reason.

But when my parents call the family together and drag my brother and me to a buffet, i only ever make one trip. Overeating just makes me feel miserable, so why overdo it? I'll make a second trip if i eat dessert, but since i'm not terribly fond of sweets, i don't usually do that.

I *always* get food poisoning every time I go to any type of buffet, so I strictly avoid them now if I can. If not, I usually only take one plate for regular food and another plate for desert. (Usually ice cream because I abhor fruit pies/any pie that isn't Boston Creme Pie or Oreo Pie.)

Is there a chance its the kind of foods you choose to eat together at a buffet that dont interact well together in your body rather than it being food poisoning?

Nope. I pick different foods and try to eat more fruit than anything else. I don't eat fish or poultry and I try to avoid dairy because I'm slightly lactose intolerant.

I usually only go up once, much to the horror of my friends. Sometimes I go up twice.

I go for one trip to get a little of everything that looks good, then a second to pile my plate high with the best one or two things out of that lot. Usually I am full by then, but if I'm not, I may make a third.

Three times, but I don't pile the food up (like someone else above, I don't really like my food to be touching on the plate). Usually it goes something like this.. first plate is some lo mien, stir fry broccoli, a crab rangoon, and some chicken. Second time is gyoza, more broccoli, coconut shrimp, and some fried potato. Third time is some sushi and miso soup, or fried rice sometimes. Dessert is my favorite plate though, fruit, jello, and these tasty little cakes... mmm, I'm craving buffet now. :p

1. I don't like Chinese. Needless to say it's never my idea when I go.

Two...sometimes three if I'm super hungry, if I happened to miss something, or if there was something I really wanted. But usually two.

I said 4 but it only applies to Chinese food buffets. I tend to get really small amounts of things and try new things out in my first two trips and then slightly more later.
